Meet Minja
Minja (Minjia) is a longtime resident of Clark County District F, a former UNLV adjunct professor, and a TEDx speaker who is running for Clark County Commissioner to tackle the rising cost of living and champion responsible growth.
She is a commercial real estate professional specializing in urban and infield redevelopment and community revitalization, aligning investments with local community priorities and sustainable development practices, having worked on public and private projects including affordable housing and neighborhood-level redevelopment plans.
Raised in Southwest Las Vegas, Minja is deeply committed to fighting for the community she calls home. Her record proves it:
- Led the Chinatown Redevelopment Plan, gathering over 700 survey responses and working with residents and small business owners to improve safety, traffic, and infrastructure.
- Mobilized the community to protect public lands, successfully defeated two federal bills that threatened to privatize 65,000 acres of public lands in Clark County, including areas near Blue Diamond Hill, Mountain’s Edge, Southern Highlands and Inspirada.
- Helped shape the vision for Southern Nevada’s future through her work with regional and local government policymakers, championing people-first policies to support public transit, increase housing supply, and challenge entrenched power brokers and lobbyists.
- Elevated her advocacy to the TEDx stage, where she delivered a TEDx talk on preserving historical Chinatowns across the country.
Minja contributes to regional planning and policymaking through her involvement with the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC)’s Southern Nevada Strong Steering Committee and Transportation Resource Advisory Committee. Her experience also includes participation in master plan and regional plan updates for local municipalities.
Minja serves on the boards of The Mob Museum and the UNLV Lee Business School Alumni Chapter. Additionally, she is a member of the Public Private Partnership Council of Urban Land Institute.
In 2023, she was awarded the “President’s Award” by the American Institute of Architects Las Vegas Chapter for her contribution in supporting women professionals in the ACE (architecture, construction, and engineering) industry for creating the first “Women Building Nevada Symposium”.
Minja holds a Master of Science in Real Estate with a concentration in Finance and Investment from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. She is also a Fellow of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy’s “Building Vibrant Communities” fellowship program.
With locals being priced out of their own community, Minja believes in a Clark County that works for its residents, not against them. She will use every tool available to create more quality jobs, lower housing costs, revolutionize our transportation system and make our streets and communities safer. She is committed to being the most accessible, proactive, and engaged commissioner District F has ever seen.
