Press Release
Justice Against Abusive Powers
February 7, 2026
The murder of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis has shaken our nation and raised serious questions about which freedoms we are allowed to exercise and by whom. violent aggression from enforcement agencies must end.
Here in Clark County, Las Vegans have watched with pride and concern as students walked out of their classrooms in peacful protest, out of anger and care for their families, neighbors, and conviction in their rights. These young people are learning firsthand that freedom of speech and freedom of assembly are not just words in a document but living rights that must be protected and respected every day. They learn from the generations before them, and they are raising their voices for actionable change.
Clark County is home to a richly diverse community, with more than on ein five of our residents born outside the United States. Many of our families have deep roots in various immigrant communities and contribute immeasurably to the cultural, socila, and economic strength of our region.
We deserve to live in a place where people can freely exist and raise their voices without fear of physical violence or the loss of life. When injustice strikes one of us, we need represetatives at every level of government who will stand up for everyone and uphold the constitutional freedoms that define who we are as Americans. Our lives and our liberties are on the line, and it is time for the violence aginst our community to end.
Justice for Keith Porter, Renee Nicole Good, Alex Pretti, and for all lives lost due to abusive powers.
